Erasmus+ ARTEST Project: Graduate Student Exchange Program /MN to EU/

As part of the Erasmus+ ARTEST project, graduate students from five Mongolian partner universities had the opportunity to participate in a student exchange program, visiting universities in Italy, Germany, and Greece.

The two-week exchange program took place from the 16th to the 27th of September, 2024.

University of Cologne
Graduate students from the National University of Mongolia, University of Humanities and Otgontenger University visited the University of Cologne in Cologne, Germany. During their stay, they attended a summer school on deep learning and explored various university facilities, including the CAVE virtual reality environment, Schloss Wahn, the university’s Data Center and Digitalization Center, and the Institute of Archaeology. Moreover, they learned how to use the digital lab Kompakkt for uploading and annotating objects. The hands-on experience allowed students to develop skills in digital preservation and archaeology.

University of Catania
Students from the National University of Mongolia and the Mongolian National University of Arts and Culture traveled to Sicily, Italy, as part of the exchange activities at the University of Catania. There, they visited several museums and galleries, including the Museum Mirabilia, the Monastery of the Benedictines, the Civic Museum Castello Ursino, The Museum of Representation, the Naxos Archaeological Museum, and the Fontana Art Gallery. These visits provided students with opportunities to conduct 3D scanning and photogrammetry of museum objects. In addition, they received lectures and training from UNICT professors and researchers on photogrammetry, 3D data acquisition, and processing techniques, culminating in the creation of final 3D models.

 

International Hellenic University
Graduate students from the University of Humanities and Mongolian University of Science and Technology, visited Greece, where they explored significant historical landmarks, ancient temples, and archaeological museums. As part of their educational activities, they visited Aristotle University and the International Hellenic University. Here, students learned about ongoing project activities related to digital humanities, further enhancing their academic and cultural understanding through direct interaction with faculty and researchers.
